Apres Grande 12 by Christian Chaize |
I'm super excited to announce a fun giveaway we're hosting for the folks at 20x200! As many of you probably already know Jen Bekman's 20x200 online art shop offers amazing deals everyday with her 20x200 site concept. Each week new original editions are offered with the idea that they want everyone to collect art, enabling an economy that allows more artists to make a living by making work. So great, yes? The smallest sizes are reprinted in an edition of 200 – and sold at the lowest price (around $24). With larger sizes available in smaller editions. Jen also has an amazing eye and knows her art stuff; so if you wish to start collecting her site is a great place to start with some great pieces! I'm also really honoured to be working with such a highly regarded spot on the web!
A little more info: All of the art, prints and photographs in 20x200's curated collection are carefully produced: Every work is accompanied by an artist-signed and numbered certificate that ensures the one you own is part of an exclusive edition created with the artist. Once they're sold out, they're gone for good-so if you see something you like, snap it up!
So now for the giveaway!
20x200 is offering a chance to win a $200 (US) gift certificate just by visiting their site finding a favorite piece of art that you like and then coming back here (to this post) to leave a comment mentioning it. Note you can't pick any of my favorites listed below as a favorite for the comment for this giveaway (even if it is). One comment per person; and anonymous comments are not eligible. The giveaway will run effective immediately through to Sunday night, Oct 14th/12 at 6pm (Pacific). We'll announce a winner Monday morning, Oct. 15th/12. Click HERE to visit 20x200 Good Luck!
For fun I've picked out a few of my favorites from their site:
Above:
1. Apres Grande 12 by Christian Chaize
Now that summer is over I'm seriously thinking of bringing some summer indoors with a beachy scene like this amazing print by Christian Chaize. His beach scenes are pretty popular and this one is definitely a collectible.
I've been wanting a Martha Rich print for like ever! Wouldn't a large one of these look amazing in a kitchen? This is an archive print available in 14" x 11" ($60) and 20" x 16" ($240).
3. VHS by Hollis Brown Thornton
I could totally see this print in a really cool studio space. I'd love one for my home office with a brown leather chair underneath. Love.
4. Balloons (Midtown, Manhattan) by Youngna Park
There's just something special about this image by Youngna Park. Different shades of pink balloons in the sunlight. Sigh.
5. Newell by Kevin Cyr
I love derelict trucks and vans and Kevin Cyr paints some crazy good ones. This print would look great over a drafting table. Click here to see more of his work.
6. Las Vegas, Nevada, November 2000 by Mike Sinclair
Twinkly lights, evergreens, a Nevada skyline, a new home being built – "on the perimeter of town new subdivisions were starting to replace the small ranches, trailer homes and Christmas tree lots" states Mike Sinclair. A moment in time, lost but saved by a photographer.
7. Unleaded, Unleaded, Premium Unleaded by Eric Graham
Investigating themes of isolation, abandonment and transformation through the use of negative space, artist Eric Graham's paintings examine the fragility of life in rural areas. See more here.

"A Genuine Fishing Smack" is so romantic, I have to pick it. The dreamy black and white photograph is nostalgic for me-- I used to sail a little boat as a child (and crash it into the dock). With the cute couple, you can't help but make up a story to go with it.

Thanks for the opportunity,I'd choose something by Jennifer Sanchez, http://www.20x200.com/artworks/3576-jennifer-sanchez-ny1102
I love this one: La Grande Roue De Paris, 1900! But there are lots more beautiful ones.
It's nearly impossible to choose just one favourite, but considering my love of maps I would have to go with prettymaps (paris) by Aaron Straup Cope. Beautiful!
I love Old Wind-Up Clock by Todd McLellan. I'd hang that up above my desk. Thanks for the great giveaway!
I love anything Sharon Montrose, but I have also been wanting the "Animal Locomotion: Plate 658 (Mule)" print by Eadweard Muybridge. Everytime I see it, it makes me laugh! I love it!! :)

William Lamson No. 6 8/063/2005 is my favourite right now. love 20 x 200!
I fell in love with Eadweard Muybridge after I saw his work at the SFMOMA last year. This Animal Locomotion print of the female dancing is the perfect print for my new office. I'm a horrible dancer but I love how playful these images are! http://www.20x200.com/artworks/3864-eadweard-muybridge-animal-locomotion-plate-187-dancing
Steps, by Thomas Prior! Thanks for the opportunity!
I love Waiting by Ian Baguskas. It's been ages since I visited 20x200, so it was nice to see so many new prints.
My choice would be: Central Park, Model Boat Regatta, 1962
I really am drawn to Velodrome by James Deavin. I would love this even if I wasn't a cycling fan. The colors and the tight abstract viewpoint are mesmerizing to me!
I love love Yellena James's work...and this "Myriad" is my fave!
