Apres Grande 12 by Christian Chaize |
I'm super excited to announce a fun giveaway we're hosting for the folks at 20x200! As many of you probably already know Jen Bekman's 20x200 online art shop offers amazing deals everyday with her 20x200 site concept. Each week new original editions are offered with the idea that they want everyone to collect art, enabling an economy that allows more artists to make a living by making work. So great, yes? The smallest sizes are reprinted in an edition of 200 – and sold at the lowest price (around $24). With larger sizes available in smaller editions. Jen also has an amazing eye and knows her art stuff; so if you wish to start collecting her site is a great place to start with some great pieces! I'm also really honoured to be working with such a highly regarded spot on the web!
A little more info: All of the art, prints and photographs in 20x200's curated collection are carefully produced: Every work is accompanied by an artist-signed and numbered certificate that ensures the one you own is part of an exclusive edition created with the artist. Once they're sold out, they're gone for good-so if you see something you like, snap it up!
So now for the giveaway!
20x200 is offering a chance to win a $200 (US) gift certificate just by visiting their site finding a favorite piece of art that you like and then coming back here (to this post) to leave a comment mentioning it. Note you can't pick any of my favorites listed below as a favorite for the comment for this giveaway (even if it is). One comment per person; and anonymous comments are not eligible. The giveaway will run effective immediately through to Sunday night, Oct 14th/12 at 6pm (Pacific). We'll announce a winner Monday morning, Oct. 15th/12. Click HERE to visit 20x200 Good Luck!
For fun I've picked out a few of my favorites from their site:
Above:
1. Apres Grande 12 by Christian Chaize
Now that summer is over I'm seriously thinking of bringing some summer indoors with a beachy scene like this amazing print by Christian Chaize. His beach scenes are pretty popular and this one is definitely a collectible.
I've been wanting a Martha Rich print for like ever! Wouldn't a large one of these look amazing in a kitchen? This is an archive print available in 14" x 11" ($60) and 20" x 16" ($240).
3. VHS by Hollis Brown Thornton
I could totally see this print in a really cool studio space. I'd love one for my home office with a brown leather chair underneath. Love.
4. Balloons (Midtown, Manhattan) by Youngna Park
There's just something special about this image by Youngna Park. Different shades of pink balloons in the sunlight. Sigh.
5. Newell by Kevin Cyr
I love derelict trucks and vans and Kevin Cyr paints some crazy good ones. This print would look great over a drafting table. Click here to see more of his work.
6. Las Vegas, Nevada, November 2000 by Mike Sinclair
Twinkly lights, evergreens, a Nevada skyline, a new home being built – "on the perimeter of town new subdivisions were starting to replace the small ranches, trailer homes and Christmas tree lots" states Mike Sinclair. A moment in time, lost but saved by a photographer.
7. Unleaded, Unleaded, Premium Unleaded by Eric Graham
Investigating themes of isolation, abandonment and transformation through the use of negative space, artist Eric Graham's paintings examine the fragility of life in rural areas. See more here.

I am most partial to the Lovebird #6 by Luke Stephenson. I've bought work from Affordable Art Prints before and it's fab.
My favourite is Donald Weber's photograph, Dinner, with the little girl peering at the hanging rabbit skin while the man behind prepares its meat. It's playful and violent; a picture of peace after chaos in Chernobyl. I like it a lot.
