Aaron Rayburn, a designer out of Portland, Oregon just finished an enormous commissioned project in Nashville that he's now able to share. He designed a logo and design installation for a contemporary art gallery and event space called OZ.
The space is owned by the Ozgener family who came to the United States from Turkey, raised a family and after a successful buisness reached a point in their lives where they wanted to do passion-based work. With many references in hand (you must read Aaron's blog post - and yes it does include the Wizard of Oz), Aaron explains, he "created a custom mosaic, utilizing cultural cues from Iznik (famous Turkish pottery and motifs), and extruded typography in a dramatic setting".
Watch his mini documentary of the making and installation of the project and then visit his blog for a more detailed summary. Neat stuff!
