(Both above) 1928 - Arline Wilma Preston - Married Clark Wallace Bishop, 1928
I love this collection of brides wearing the same wedding dress starting in 1928 through to 1978 that I found on a flickr set a while back called Nantucket Brides and then happened upon it again this week. A fun post for our Saturday's Wedding column? According to one of the commenters (a relative) the dress was passed down through the family altered and worn four times. Do you like how the veil started as a cape and turned into a head veil? The dress was given to the Nantucket Historial Association in 1987. (Wouldn't it be fun to see it continue being worn? It may have returned to it's original look being worn today.) Which one's your favourite? See all the dresses after the jump!
Here's a newspaper account of the gown:
1940s - Barbara Anne Nicholas
1968 Valerie Anne Jackson
1978 - Debra Roby (According to flickr, her Grandmother is Arline Wilma Preston)
