New works from Rikkianne Van Kirk of You Sentimental Idiot. Original paintings on salvaged drift wood (parts of a wooden basket she found washed up on the beach). I love the man with the net (in his suit) and the woman swimmer with a stick in the air. Beautifully weathered pieces, signed and dated on the back. Rikkianne is in our market this month as well. It's a shame.
And Margaret was inspired by other folk artists.
It's folk art.
We are all influenced by something. She's not copying a drawing - she's influenced.
Just as i see this paddle ball - http://poppytalk.blogspot.com/2011/08/wednesdays-wonderful-vintage-finds.html it most definitely tells Margaret was influenced by it. See Margaret's version - http://sissyfish.blogspot.com/2007/03/surf-in-art-margaret-kilgallen.html
Is it copying? Not exactly, but its definitely influenced.
Please be careful.
