On the Radar: Grey

Marie Claire Idées -somethingfrenchblog

I've been loving everything grey lately - which is funny as I think I fought the colour initially when it first showed up so prominently (I'm one of those that still remembers the greys of the '90's); but as it usually goes, some colours I welcome faster than others, and usually the one's I fight I end up liking the best. Funny thing that, although I'm still not a teal lover. But at the moment I just can't get enough. This weekend I was at Ikea and they had a bedroom set up with their grey painted EDLAND line and with a greyish-white TUNDRA floor and mauve wall - the room really had a great feel to it. A fresh change from all the dark hardwood floors. I think I mostly like the grey furniture and then walls second (not both together though). I'm seriously thinking of painting our entry way and hall grey, we are thinking of going for a lighter wood floor (whitish-grey) and I love the grey wall idea in contrast. What are your favourite colors lately?

ooh, i especially love that first picture. i am a huge fan of grey, it dominates my wardrobe and has been on at least one wall in every place of my own i've ever lived ;) i love the grey painted furniture, in fact we've just bought some light grey to paint a vintage dresser and vanity mirror for our daughter's room!

Grey is a perfect color and it works great with all the others from the spectrum! Lovely pictures!

The picture of the grey knit bedding (Marie Claire Maison-Mudrik) has been saved on my computer for well over a year in the hopes that either one day I will learn how to make an afghan like that, or one day I will find where to buy an afghan like that. Neither has happened, but I still hope.

I love grey! Our new bedroom has grey-blue walls and we're on the hunt for some reasonably priced grey curtains to do a fabric wall. We need to hide some unevenly placed windows.

Any suggestions on where to find some? We've been hunting forever! $80 per panel is just not cool when you need to order 7 of them.

I love gray, my bedroom has medium gray walls and dark gray curtains. It's my little cave, perfect for sleeping in!

I never even thought about grey when I was younger, but now it is a winter staple for me, esp. with blue, but also with red.

It's like brown - they always got picked last in school:) but they can have such amazing results if you're creative. I love slate and slightly pink grays and especially love 'black diamon' colored vintage glass jewels.
I'm also really love using it with bright retro colors - like orange, sea foam and coral with matte metallic grays.

We just repainted our kitchen from red to a light grey ~ so refreshing! I love it with white and wood tones!

You must check out the Scandinavia blogs - they are so consistently into white, warm grey and shots of black. They all seem to do it. I love it, though I need to throw in shots of natural wood to keep it grounded.

I'm loving grey right now! We recently painted our master bedroom a beautiful grey and I love it so much I wish we'd done the living room in tones of grey as well!

the lilcourt image is amazing! never thought grey walls with such a colorful sense of decoration would work out, but its actually much easier on the eyes.

I love the gray for a long time. On walls, on furniture. Yesterday highlight any color.
With this post I discovered how good it is combined with natural wood, thanks.
