Save the Thread
The handmade community is joining together to help a Virginia-based artist get her studio up and running again after she suffered a fire in her studio/handmade goods shop a few months ago. A site, Save the Thread (led by Design for Mankind) has been established to help raise funds to help Angelina of Red Thread Studio get her shop back in order (you can read more about the fire here). Artists like Lisa Solomon and Will Bryant (to name a few) are contributing works along with a donation tier system has been set up which you can read more about here. If you are an artist and wish to consider helping out or you're a blog and want to pass the good information on, or you'd wish to make a donation visit savetheredthread.blogspot.com for more info.
