my secret pocket journey
new work by ayumi piland from apak "my secret pocket journey" will be showcasing at the grass hut, 811 east burnside, portland, oregon from august 3 - 31st/07. (grasshutcorp.com). in this show, the viewer gets a chance to peak into the world of her secret pocket (an imaginary place where she likes to curl up and dream). born in saitama prefecture, japan, ayumi moved to the u.s. studying her bfa in illustration at kendall college of art and design in michigan. her and her husband now reside in portland supporting each other as freelance illustrators and often collaborating under the name apak showcasing their work for galleries mostly on the west coast.
