Cinco de Mayo | 4 Expertly Crafted Tequila Cocktails


If you’re looking for a few cocktail ideas for this weekend's Cinco de Mayo festivities, we have a few rather delicious options expertly crafted by the folks at Casamigos Tequila. ALOE VERA MARGARITA

2 oz. Casamigos Blanco Tequila
1.5 oz. Aloe Vera Juice
.5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
.5 oz. Aloe Vera
Infused Syrup*

Method: Combine all ingredients into tin shaker and add ice. Shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds then strain into rocks glass. Add fresh ice and garnish with fresh Aloe Vera leaf placed in cocktail.

*To Create Aloe Vera Infused Syrup – Bring 12 cups of water to boil in large saucepan. Infuse fresh peeled aloe vera. Bring to simmer. Let soak for 20-25 min. Fine strain into another large saucepan. Add 12 cups of sugar and bring to boil. Stir until fully dissolved. Let cool. Store in sealed container and refrigerate. Good for 3-4 weeks.




GINGER BLACKBERRY THYME POPSICLE

5 oz. Casamigos Reposado Tequila
14 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
5 oz. Ginger Syrup by Elixir G
4 oz. Simple Syrup
18 Blackberries
24 Dried Thyme Sprigs

Method: Combine all ingredients into a blender, except dried thyme, and blend until smooth. Fine strain contents into pouring vessel, then fill 12 popsicle molds. Be sure to leave a little room towards top so when you put on the top, the liquid doesn’t overflow. Make sure to let the froth settle down before covering, otherwise you will have an air-filled popsicle once frozen. Once settled, add 2 dried thyme sprigs to each popsicle, pushing down herbs with popsicle stick, and freeze for a minimum of 6 hours (preferably overnight). Once ready, pour warm water over mold and popsicle will come right out. If serving to guests, place in a cup of crushed ice to keep cold or add to a Casamigos Margarita for double the flavour.



PINK DRAGON

2 oz. Casamigos BlancoTequila
1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1 oz. Simple Syrup
2 Strawberries
8–10 Mint Leaves
Soda Water
Rose Water

Method: Combine all ingredients, except rose water and soda water into tin shaker. Muddle fruit/herbs and add ice. Shake vigorously then fine strain into a collins glass. Add fresh ice and top off with soda water and 6 dashes of rose water. Garnish with mint sprig through half-moon dragon fruit slice.



REPO FRESCO

2 oz. Casamigos Reposado Tequila
1.5 oz. Fresh Grapefruit Juice
.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz. Agave Nectar
3 Cucumber Slices
8–10 Mint Leaves
Top with Soda Water

Method: Combine all ingredients into tin shaker, except soda water. Muddle fruit/herbs and add ice. Shake vigorously then fine strain into a collins glass. Add fresh ice and top off with soda water. Garnish with mint sprig through cucumber slice and place on top of glass.
