France: Inspiration du Jour by Rae Dunn

Back in 2012 we were pulled into the world of artist, Rae Dunn's trip to France. At that time, it was her second year with an artist in residence program there and when we saw her new work we asked if she'd mind sharing a few images from her exhibit. The post included a few photos of her time spent there, a bit of inspiration and a few scenes from her sketchbook.

Being fans of her work, we were obviously thrilled to now find out she has written a book, France: Inspiration du Jour with Chronicle Books which is a glimpse into her gorgeous sketchbooks that she compiles during her annual sojourns in Paris, Provence, and the French Riviera.  An inspiring book for artists, inspiring artists, travelers and those fond of France. We love how Rae has taken pieces of her travels and translated them into her sketchbook and ultimately her ceramics as she portrays in this book.  For example, the stripes in a road she came across, inspired the stripes some vessels. A real treasure.

The book officially launched today! Check out a sneak preview from her instagram feed (raedunnclay) below (scroll through by clicking on the right arrows):

This looks like a completely charming book. It must have been hard to edit it to just one inspiration a day!
