S'mores Holiday Parfait Recipe + Holiday Cards

This post is sponsored by Staples Print & Marketing Services. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Poppytalk.

This year for our holiday cards we wanted to do something a little extra special. Rather than sending out a greeting card alone, we loved the idea we've seen in the past, where a recipe is included as part of the greeting. Sending out the recipe to one of our favourite holiday treats was the next best thing we thought to actually making it for our friends and peers, so when Staples approached us this year to collaborate on some projects from their Staples Print & Marketing Services, we were in!

We decided to share one of our favourite recipes, a holiday version of a fun summer favourite, S'mores (parfait style). This is a pretty amazing dessert, and if you like S'mores by the campfire, you're going to love this!  Have fun adding over-the-top toppings like nuts, popcorn, chocolate sauce, etc!  Check out the recipe (and our cards) below!

S'mores Holiday Parfait
Serves 8

Graham Wafer Crust
1 cup graham wafer crumbs
1/4 cup melted butter
1 Tbsp sugar
Combine the graham crumbs and sugar. Mix in the melted butter and press into parfait glasses. Set to cool.

For the Ganache
3/4 cup heavy cream
6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
In a saucepan, bring cream just to a boil. Drop in the chopped chocolate. Cover and let stand one minute. Stir until smooth. Pour a little over each individual graham wafer crumb base. Refrigerate until chocolate firms (approx. 15 minutes). Note this recipe should be made and eaten fresh, because if you leave it in the fridge the chocolate will harden, making it difficult to scoop out!

For the Marshmallow/Cream Cheese Mix
1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 ounces (1/2 package) cream cheese
1 cup of whipped cream
4 cups mini marshmallows
Beat marshmallow creme and cream cheese and vanilla in a separate bowl until smooth and well blended. Stir in whipped cream until well blended. Spread evenly over chocolate layers.

Repeat all steps twice, making a double layer of each section. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Top with a layer of mini marshmallows, and brown the marshmallows with a kitchen torch just before serving if you like. Sprinkle over-the-top toppings like nuts, popcorn, chocolate sauce, etc!

Enjoy!

I might give this one a go, it looks so indulgent. I'll jut have to replace the graham crackers with digestives
