On the Radar | El Tropical

If there's a print or style that's on our radar this spring, it most definitely has to be of the tropical variety. Big leafy patterns and tropical motifs are everywhere in home decor this season, and we kind of can see why!  They bring movement to a space and are super-uplifting!  We talked about this trend early last spring, (read here) and the year prior as well (read here), but now it seems to be in full gear. Let's take a look!

1. Foliage
(Above and two images below) from the home of Interior designer Patricia Bustos de la Torre of Blossom Studio nd her husband Nacho Garcia-Altozano, featured in Living Etc.'s March issue.  Loving the leaf fabric covered mid-century chairs especially covered in fabric by Christian Lacroix for Designers Guild. The leaves are a theme all throughout their home.

H&M gets a little tropical in the bath from shower curtains to towels.  They also have cushions

2. Going Bananas
We've been noticing the banana making appearances here and there lately.  Is this a mini trend? Maybe it's the new pineapple?  Below: A fun collection from H&M.

3. Bold Graphic Colours
This spring IKEA introduces the TILLFÄLLE Collection. A fusion of Brazilian inspirations and Scandinavian simplicity.

4. Neutral Tropics
Shops like Pop and Scott have a more neutral take on the tropics.  Check out some of their nice digs below.

5. Jungalicious
And of course, we couldn't forget our friend Justina Blakeney and her gorgeous papers from Hygge & West. If your pad is in need of a little uplifting this season, might we suggest the new wallpapers by Justina Blakeney for Hygge & West.  The bright and jungalow effect is what you'll get with this new collection of bright and graphic papers.  We're loving 'Nana' (above), a beautiful botanical on blush colorway perfect for an entryway or bath.  And equally boosting, 'Cosmic Desert Gold' (below), another tropical print in desert gold hues.

Lots of summery prints and patterns to feast your eyes on! Love it!

Growing up in Hawaii, I was always surrounded by tropical decor. I'm so happy to see this trend coming to life!
