Our Wedding Album | Ten Years

Not only are we celebrating ten years with our blog this year, this week we're also celebrating ten years of marriage.  Ten years ago we tied the knot in an intimate affair in Vancouver with a handful of our friends and family.  Looking back, it was a very chilly but beautiful December afternoon as our entire wedding party and guests walked together down a very icy sidewalk to the church from our small apartment around the corner.  The service was extra special too because of the beautiful holiday decor inside the church.  Afterwards we walked back to our apartment for a late luncheon, cake and refreshments.  It was a very small wedding, yet filled with so much love and support from our family and friends.  We've never shared any photos of our wedding online yet remarkably, and so when we were asked by Staples to write about their Copy & Print service, we thought what a perfect way to celebrate ten years by making a special wedding keepsake photobook.  Here's a few highlights:

I loved my dress.  It was a sleeveless, just-above-the-knee, off-white jacquard sheath with a rhinestone neckline. I also wore a faux fur cape to keep me warm for a December wedding. I carried a small bouquet of red roses wrapped in a cream-coloured tule. Earl looked so handsome in his dark black suit and matching corsage.

Here we are cutting our cake, which was a simple white cake with whip cream icing, topped with fresh fruit from Anna's Cake House. So good (I wish I could find the coloured version to show you). Also, in hindsight, we perhaps should have thought about the backdrop a little more; but at the time, we were so in love, we didn't even notice (and neither did our photographer apparently).

Another couple of shots (below), to the far right my beautiful sister, Rhonda who was my Maid of Honour.

We especially love this photo taken outside the church after the ceremony. A perfect shot!  We love our new keepsake photobook, something we never had before and will cherish forever.

Happy anniversary you two! You look gorgeous, Jan. We celebrated 10 years back in June and I'm always a bit sad that we don't have much in the way of wedding photos. Looks like a lovely wedding!

@kickpleat - thank you Jeannette! And congrats on 10 years yourself! Small world. I know we only have a few photos. I do wish we had more, and wish I could find where I archived the originals!
