A Holiday Vignette with Natalie Bjordal

We've often crossed paths with this next guest online and for good reason.  Vancouver's Natalie Bjordal is a talented lady who crafts up a storm with the best of them, styles and also plans some pretty sweet events!  Check out her holiday decor below! Photos by Nathan Legiehn.

Tell us a bit about your photos?
I like to use a lot of white and silver to decorate for Christmas and I change things up every year. So I handcraft a lot of the decorations on the tree. I made a garland to go around it using twine and white pom poms and added white feathers and we are big on cute felted animal ornaments! Yarn pom poms are easy to make and great to add if you don't have enough ornaments to fill the tree. This will probably be the last year I can have full control on the look of the tree because I'm sure Penny will take over next year! We get our christmas tree every year from Dykhof nurseries in North Vancouver...they have the best trees!  Also not shown in the photos is my crazy obsession with fairy lights...they are everywhere in our house!

I make a wreath every December to put on our front door and like to use different types of eucalyptus and bits of wax flower. I just love the smell when you enter or leave the house and when it dries out it's still pretty!

What is your favorite holiday tradition?
We are making new traditions with our family and one that is super fun is Elf on the Shelf. As soon as Penny wakes up she's wondering where Sara the elf is. It's so fun to see her little face light up when she finds Sara in the morning...that elf is always up to no good.

What are three go-to gifts that you'll be giving this year?

1. I love to give out scented candles. My favourite one to give is the Kalastyle Swedish Dream Sea Salt Candle

2. Cook books are great to give out like Donna Hay and I also like to give out Kinfolk magazines with a pretty chocolate bars to go on top

3. I do love to buy a toys for the kids but I'm big on giving out books to all the kiddos in our family and any of Oliver Jeffers books are great. Penny has them all. They have great deals on books at Costco and Amazon.ca
