Social Sessions Announce Tamara Taggart as Panelist

We're excited to announce today that Vancouver news anchor,  Tamara Taggart will be joining us as one of our panelists at Social Sessions at IDSwest this September.  Tamara will be joining our talk on "Growing a Following" with other panelists, Jaime Derringer of Design Milk, Monika Hibbs and us, Poppytalk!

Canadians and most especially, British Columbians know Tamara from her position as weekday anchor of CTV News at Six alongside Mike Killeen, and online many of us know her as a mother, advocate, cancer survivor, party planner and more!

Tamara most recently gave a TEDxSFU talk called Two Conversations that Changed My Life. She compared the conversation she had with doctors when she was told her son had Down syndrome to the conversation with doctors when they told her she had cancer. Her TEDxSFU talk has been viewed over 6-thousand times. Tamara is a strong advocate for her son and others with special needs, believing we are more the same than we are different.

She also just was appointed to the 2015 Order of British Columbia, BC’s highest honour. She received the honour for her volunteer work supporting healthcare and the well-being of people and children with disabilities.

We are honoured Tamara will be joining our panel, and we're sure she will bring a wealth of information and experience to the discussion.

If you're interested in attending visit IDSwest's website at idswest.com/event-info/social-sessions to register or for more info.  We hope to see you there!
