Dispatch from S. Africa | New Block Printed Scarves from Skinny Laminx

After returning from teaching principles of block printing as part of the Ritchie Ace Camps Jaipur Block Printing Tour last year, South Africa's Heather Moore of Skinny Laminx was kicking herself for not having been more business-y while she was there. She was dying to get some of her own designs block printed!

Then she remembered about a handmade paper book she'd taken with her when she'd spent the day in Bagru, printing their own vegetable dyed dupatta scarves. She'd made impressions of all the blocks she liked best and realized what a great design resource she'd brought back!

She used the impressions in this book to design three dupatta scarves, which were block printed using traditional wooden blocks and natural vegetable dyes in a small printing facility in Bagru, India.

And how beautiful they all are, Let's take a look!

See more about her trip and collection on her blog here. All scarves are available online in her shop here.  Or if you're in S. Africa you can visit her shop at 201 Bree Street, Cape Town, 8001, South Africa.
