A Winter Holiday Tablescape

This post is sponsored by Roots Canada, whom we are excited to be partnering with this holiday season!

This past weekend we created a tablescape for a winter's holiday breakfast gathering using products from the Root's General Store, a collection of quintessentially Canadian products perfect for holiday gift-giving. We created a festive centrepiece using evergreen boughs and winterberries.  We loved how the evergreens contrasted with the white of the table and the red of their Buffalo Tea Towels (which we adore by the way).  A little demo of how we made the centrepiece and an explanation of what is on the table below.

We attached the evergreens to a bare branch we found in the backyard.  We layered the evergreen boughs with the cedar boughs and winterberries, wrapping wire around them as we went—creating symmetry from each end until they met at the centre; where we attached three pinecones. It smelled amazing!

There's something cozy about surrounding yourself with the warmth of candles for a meal, and their natural soy wax Maple Scented Candles crackled like a campfire when lit (and made the house smell of maple cookies when you entered).

The box of Maple Chocolate Truffles didn't last long, but made for a pretty place setting and takeaway for our guests.  Buffalo Tea Towels doubled as rather cool napkins.

We complimented the Buffalo tea towels with their other tea towel design, reminiscent of a cozy knit sock (like their Knit Kit Scarf we posted about last week)!

A little mulled hot apple cider bar with treats!  Our recipe? On the stove top heat 4 cups of apple juice, 3 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 1/2 an orange sliced for approx. 20 minutes.  Also shown: Mason Jar Mugs, Maple Chocolate Truffles, Salted Caramel Popcorn, Maple Syrup Candles and adorable Holiday Tree Ornaments (that totally reminded us of sock monkeys)!

Other products on the table were their Maple Syrup (in glass maple leaf bottles) and Ontario Strawberry & Rhubarb spread with cranberries. So good!

The table just before our guests arrived. We couldn't wait to entertain!

As an option, we also tried our table using tea towels doubled as mini table runners.  We loved how they popped out on this photo.

The shimmery gold from the Maple Syrup candles and the cozy, blanket feel from the Buffalo tea towels is like Christmas inspo overload to me!!! I love the old-fashioned feel, to me it's really different. So heading over to their shop ASAP.
