A little blast of the sun today from our friends at Inside Out Magazine as they head into their summer; we could all use a bit of warming up here in the Northern Hemisphere we think.  Managing Editor, Lee Tran Lam gives us the details:

"The cover story is on Debbie and Eugene Tan, the lovely couple behind the super-popular Aquabumps surf photography site, (aquabumps.com). Their home, accordingly, is right by Bondi Beach and is so wonderfully sun-drenched that you may need some SPF30 while looking at the feature. Styling by Jason Grant. Photography by Grace Cassio.


So it might not seem very 'cool' to live with your mother, but architect Andrew Benn proves that wrong with his brilliant renovation – which took his own house and his mother's home (situated right next door) and completely made them over to make the most of the close proximity and family connections. A sneaky passage links the two homes and they bring each other food, share resources or sometimes his mother will walk Andrew's dog. Not only was this a personal project, but it also won a NSW Architecture Award for his firm, Benn and Penna (which he runs with wife Alice). In fact, they won the award the same day that Alice discovered she was pregnant – so it was a two-in-one celebration (even if she had to skip out on drinking champagne)!

Bless stylist Phoebe McEvoy for actually making setting the table seem like a lot of fun in her 'Dinner Date' feature for us. I love all the different tabletop schemes that she flirts with in this story. Photography by Craig Wall.
