Have you been checking out any of the holiday magazine issues yet? It's one of our favorite past times around these parts, (it's like the children's version of a wish book); and today we've got a lovely preview from the folks at Inside Out Magazine. Their November issue which comes out Thursday is filled with festive ideas with an Australian vibe;  modern, colourful and bright!  Managing Editor, Lee Tran Lam fills us in on their holiday issue below:

"Our cover story has some sweet and inspired ideas, such as using a branch for Christmas decorations (good for all the leftover ornaments that you couldn't quite squeeze onto the tree – or if you have a small place, and hauling in a mega-sized tree is definitely out of the question). Sticking up a festive message with cardboard lettering is also a nice idea (and a way to inspire kids to stay on the 'nice' side of the 'naughty or nice' Santa list, hopefully)! Our stylists Jessica Hanson and Joseph Gardner take on Christmas wrapping and manage to side-step the red-and-green cliches altogether, with metallics, white on white, and neon brights. Photography by Anna Pogossova.

Our Christmas craft story is by Lulu Lucky, who has come up with lots of cute ideas. I love her take on the advent calendar, but her gift bags, bead garland and banners are cool, too. Styling by Jessica Hanson. Photography by Craig Wall.

And for another twist on Christmas decorating, we asked a range of creative personalities (such as stylist Lisa Koehler, artist and homewares creator Rachel Castle and our style editor Jessica Hanson) for their one-of-a-kind take on festive style. Rachel's rough-around-the-edges garland from fabric cuts is a lovely DIY idea to try. ("The trick here is to just be free and easy – it's chicken soup for crafty people", she says). And lastly, we have Joseph Gardner's styling picks for festive lights – and there's not a single red-nosed reindeer in sight! These lamps could work any time, too, long after the tree has been packed away. Photography by Guy Bailey."

Thank you Lee Tran!

And a fun fact: They also have one of our workshop stars profiled in the mag this month! Brittany Watson Jepsen of The House That Lars Built is their profiled blogger!

The November issue of Inside Out Magazine is out Thursday and is available at newsagents or digitally via Zinio, Google Play, iTunes & Nook

So many creative original ideas! Love that big stick with the hanging honeycombs, and that Sharon Misko cut and paste-look Christmas tree on black mounted fabric with that very cool scalloped garland (that reminds me of ink drawings!) Can't believe the holidays are coming... sigh!!
