6 DIY Tables to Try

We've been long overdue for a dining room table and I've been starting to consider making our own since it seems hard to find something we really like and that will go with our chairs.  So I'm loving these wood table projects I've been seeing out there and have been collecting ideas as I see them.  Here's a few projects that I've been considering.

1.  (Above): Table with Hairpin Legs by Homemade Modern. 2x12s were purchased at Home Depot which were then put together with legs from hairpinlegsforless.com.  Get instructions here.

2.  Reclaimed Wood on IKEA legs. Vika Moliden legs are used for this project which uses reclaimed wood from a local lumber store.  Instructions at instructables.com

3. This clever table was created using cast iron pipes and fittings by the folks at Cartolina.  Get the downloadable plans and instructions here.

4. Five 2x8 boards and LERBERG trestle legs from IKEA were used for this DIY by Ez of Creature Comforts. Get the how-to here

5.  Another version using the LERBERG IKEA legs from Stylizimo.  Get the how to here.

6.  This table uses black iron pipes also (just a bit of a different version) - love the bench too! Get the instructions at HomeMade Modern here.

Have you made your own table? Maybe have a link to share?  I'd love to see alternatives.  Let me know in the comments!

Oh WOW...can't wait to see what you do!
We did a table for our daughter using lumber store wood, we tapered fence posts of clear spruce. the apron is pine, both where painted white. The top was antique wood stained walnut. Cost...less than $200.00
I love the stained tops of your inspiration pics!

Same here! Except we've been putting it off for years... Ana White has some amazing plans on her blog. I was obsessed with her farmhouse table.

I did something similar to the first one with hairpin legs. I got a 4x6 piece of bowling alley lane from Craigslist. The cheapest hairpin legs I found were actually on ebay from a guy on Long Island, and he'll make custom sizes.

Here's my table:

We had a table and bench made by Vancouver Reclaimed that is very similar to that first photo with hairpin legs. The wood was from an old netting warehouse in Steveston. He also makes his own hairpin legs, if you wanted to go local - he sells them separately.

Here's our table

these are all gorgeous! We made a table out of an old door and hairpin legs we bought online. It was easy and it's huge and sturdy. Good luck and can't wait to see what you do! Here's a photo ...

Hi There,

These tables are really nice.

I was inspired by one of your previous DIY posts, so we've built our own kitchen table too. Can't wait to see your table.

Great stuff guys. I got a chunk of bowling lane wood as well that I converted to a coffee table. I then used iron plumbing for the legs, and in order not to scratch floors I found a rubber coating that I could dip the legs into.
