Weekend Project | Spring Appliqué Pillows

By Sania Pell | Photography Penny Wincer for Inside Out Magazine

This little project I found over at Inside Out Magazine's website is such a great way to bring a little spring into your decor! Appliqué pillows using patterned fabrics with flowers and birds that can be cut out.  Sania Pell who produced this piece, started by finding a pair of birds, which were on an apron she found in a sale and then added silk flowers and leaves to it and to a few other pillows to create a pretty set for the bed.  So perhaps looking for an old apron or curtains that you don't mind cutting into, or even something found at the thrift shop would work.  Pick up a few silk flowers, sew them on and you're set!  I especially love the floral one (so pretty)!. How cute! And I have the perfect piece of fabric... its a small piece that had the cutest birds on it. Plus I have some of my granny's old hankies which can be used as well. Thanks for the inspiration!
