Today I'm excited to introduce to you, Poppytalk contributor, Lisa Solomon's newest project, that she and Katrina Rodabaugh are launching in the new year! It's an online textile-based craft course they're calling INTERWOVEN which will be focusing on four different textile projects —crochet, soft sculpture, embroidery and quilting— each week from February 4 - March 1, 2013. I've been wanting to crochet for like ever, so personally I am so looking forward to joining them, care to join me? Here's more info:
“INTERWOVEN:: make : thread : craft : art” is a textile-based online craft course that will guide students in four techniques over four weeks. From February 4-March 1, 2012 each week will focus on a different textile project—crochet, soft sculpture, embroidery, quilting—with a complete step-by-step tutorial to learn the techniques and create a finished project. Throughout the week we will also offer inspiration from other artists using this technique, possibilities for altering this technique, an exclusive interview with a professional artist, and suggestions for further exploration such as materials, tools, resources, or other studio tips. The private website will be available all day, everyday, from the first day of class on February 4 through April 30—this way you can enjoy the information at your own speed after the course has finished on March 1.

In
addition to the private online course, participants will
also have access to an INTERWOVEN Facebook page and a private Flickr
group
where they can post their own projects and receive weekly feedback. The
course
is designed with the beginner crafter and the experienced artist in
mind—aiming
to offer everyone a supportive creative community, daily inspired
prompts, thorough
tutorials, personal feedback, insider tips for tools & resources,
and
inspiration to take these projects to the next level. Artists Lisa
Solomon and
Katrina Rodabaugh met through their studio blogs several years ago and
have been friends on and off-line ever since. They share a love of
colorful thread,
beautiful fabrics, and using traditional crafting techniques to make
contemporary
art. This is the first time they have offered an online course. For more
