I've always loved the mix of styles that are Japanese and Scandinavian - the two just go together like peanut butter and jelly (simplistic and light). But have you been noticing this style lately – Moroccan + Swedish? Or more Moroccan accents in Swedish homes? Both example images here from different homes but much in common. I love the mini rugs (above on the bedroom floor) and below folded and used as seat cushions. The above room is from a fisherman's cottage in Gotland, renovated and owned by Swedish cinematographer, Bengan Widell. A rustic space with a unique mix of vintage middle eastern accents, religious wall art and Swedish pine. And directly below, an old house in Skåne in the South of Sweden which dates back to the 18th century. Love the table idea –goes so well with the bench. And the Scandinavian white painted walls that hold it all is a great stage to show these pieces off.

What I like about this are all of the muted colors (no real bright pieces that we seem to see alot of as of late coming out of Morocco), but more natural and relaxed. Do you like it? I think it would be great as a cabin/summer cottage interior. To see more of each visit Lantliv (for the fisherman's cottage) and Seventeen Doors for the place in Skane.

Great observation.....we were in Iceland a few weeks ago and we noticed it there too, with rugs, suncatchers, candle holders etc.....

delicious interiors! good combination, Yes! I think that some of the excessive details add to the chic and charm:)and it is so close to the Russian spirit..
When I read the title, I was like, "what?!" Surprisingly, it does work in this cute fisherman's cottage. So relaxed and fun.
It Is a fresh combination, and beautifully decorated. It is a huge eye-opener! I LOVE it.
