{As many of you have probably noticed from time to time Germany-based artist, Stephanie Levy has guest posted here on Poppytalk and she's back this time with a visit to Stockholm she made earlier this summer. And I'm pleased to also let you know she's going to be joining us now on a monthly basis as our first Dispatches from Germany contributor starting next month. This summer, I had the pleasure of visiting Sweden for the very first time, and one of the highlights of my trip was meeting ceramic artist Karin Eriksson in her lovely manos shop in Stockholm.
At manos, Karin's beautiful ceramic artwork is featured alongside an exquisite selection of Scandinavian and international artists and designers.
Everything at manos is so artistically displayed; I could hardly stop taking photographs.
Karin has a sunlit studio workspace located in the back of her shop, and when I peeked inside her kiln, I discovered new works from her collaboration with illustrator (and Poppytalk contributor) Camilla Engman, another of my favorite Swedish artists! Happily, I had the chance to meet Camilla in her city of Gothenburg later in my visit.
Karin is not only a talented artist herself, she has a special eye for bringing together just the right pieces in her displays.
She is also a kind and delightful person, so if you are in Stockholm, don't miss the chance to stop by manos. (Pssst - you can buy online from her shop too)!
Near her shop in the trendy district of Sodermalm, the streets are lined with unique, artsy shops, and Karin mentioned a few of her favorites.
At Parlans, you can taste handmade organic caramels in several different flavors, while checking out the retro decor and hairstyles of the friendly girls working there. They even have a cool blog: http://www.parlanskonfektyr.se/blogg - but only in Swedish.
Talent Gallery features limited edition silk screens and original posters with graphic art and typography from artists around the world.
Vintage clothing and furniture is all the rage in Stockholm, and Sodermalm is full of hip and happening boutiques.
Stockholm was glorious and I already miss the fresh sea breezes and the friendly smiles of the Swedish.Thanks to everyone for their hospitality!

Beat me to it! I am going to spend some time with Karin in Stockholm next weekend and was hoping to do a post on her shop manos :):) I know she has wonderful taste and completely agree that she is amazingly friendly and kind (she's helped me find a flat there).
Even more excited about going back to one of my favourite cities now - thank you!
