Have you seen this cute little modular system called Crates? Just launched today, it and its various accessories were designed and developed by the Quirky online community, a social product development company from sketch to store in just 100 days. Quirky makes invention accessible by partnering with creative people around the world to help them bring their ideas to life. Their products are developed in collaboration with hundreds of their online community members from around the world. The reinvention of the milk crate was the dream of Jenny Drinkard, a 25 year old design student from Atlanta, GA with the help of 1791 influencers from the Quirky community.
There are 10 accessories to customize your storage system including metal casters for mobility or wooden legs to keep it steady. Cord clips manage your cables and hooks are available for hanging items like headphones and keys. There are separate drawers and shelves to keep things organized or add the corkboard and dry erase side panels to post notes, photos and messages. You can even add a cushion to turn your crate into seat.
Beginning July 1st, Crates will be available in Quirky's online store and at select Target locations. Crates is sold for $19.99 and each accessory will be sold separately. Check out www.quirky.com/crate for more info on the project.

However, I wish this would come as wood or as made from another organic material. Organic design hold the future.
Look at my Pinboards in which I only have only wood and art and see how humanized wood, art and design together feel:

Next to the feel of wood; all plastic ends up in landfills, ovens or the ocean.
