New Tokyo Contributor: Polkaros
We're super excited to welcome a new Tokyo contributor to Poppytalk this week! Ros Lee is a Singapore-born designer that has been living and working in Japan since 2005. Inspired by Japan's traditional crafts and unique zakka goods, she moved to Tokyo after being awarded a scholarship to study textile design at Joshibi Universitiy of Art and Design. Upon graduation, She was offered a position as a product designer at Accent Corporation, a Tokyo-based interior goods and lifestyle product company.
In 2011 Ros decided to strike out on her own. She began working as a design consultant and officially launched the Polkaros brand. She is currently a design consultant for Clinique Asia Pacific, designing gift premiums such as cosmetic pouches, tote bags and other accessories.
In her freetime, Ros enjoys pottery, silkscreening, sewing and going around Japan with her camera. Please join us in welcoming her by visiting her online. (Psssst - she's hosting a giveaway for the grand opening for her new shop - click here to enter)!
