Garden Gifts: DIY's for Mom

Guest post by Lily Ellis of Birch + Bird.

Is anyone else feeling a wee bit pressed for time for thoughtful Mother's Day gifts this year? As per usual, my lofty ideas for homemade gifts from the kids to our mothers and grandmothers may have to be replaced by chocolate and pre-potted plants but, if I had been more prepared, here are some simple garden-inspired DIY's perfect for Mom, party favours, hostess gifts or all of the above....

I do have some small terracotta pots from the dollar store that will be perfect for the last colour-dipped project above. Using leftover paint and some transplanted succulents from the garden, they'll be a cheap and easy addition to our other store-bought goodies that the kids can even help out with...sounds like my kind of project! Now to choose some colour combinations...we may have to keep a few for ourselves!

Lily co-writes with Rachel over at Birch + Bird. Together they organize local handmade + vintage markets and run a small Etsy shop. Scout Vintage Market will take place May 25th-26th, 2012 in Abbotsford, BC. You can follow Birch + Bird on Facebook and Twitter.
