Friday was really nice as I had a bit of extra time and dropped by local Vancouver shop, Walrus after a meeting and had a bit of a chat with owners Caroline and Daniel. They have lots of gorgeous new things in the shop and I just had to take a few pictures (some a bit blurry, sorry) to show you. Although they don't have an online shop (sounds like things are in the works), one can email them if you're interested in anything. I totally love those doormats (above) - aren't they cute? Makes me want to go back and pick one up. Both Caroline and Daniel are so knowledgeable with their products and the people who make them, which makes for a really nice shopping experience. I loved talking to them about everything they had in stock and finding out about new makers. Like these mortar and pestles (below). This is such gorgeous stuff from a company called Raumgestalt out of the Black Forest, Germany. Caroline showed me the lid which also flips over to become an actual lid so you could store whatever you were crushing afterwards. Love this.
The same company makes this beautiful board and (pottery-style grater/serving dish) - perfect for ginger. Beautiful (has a Japanese feel to it).
I also loved these little pots (by Potting Shed) which after you have started them on your windowsill, you can then plant the entire pot into the ground. I want the lavender. Perfect for Mother's Day.
And this bird feeder (Born in Sweden). Um, so sweet. It suctions to your window! Around $25.
Cool to know they are also carrying the Fatboy line - (I think only a few shops are in Vancouver) so this is cool to see. Love this dog bed.
And new-to-me pottery by Cathy Terepocki (out of Saskatoon) who also makes pendants - (see below).
They're also carrying the new aprons (and 'Bon Journey Bags) from The New Domestic. I haven't had a chance to meet local designer Nerissa Goco, but I'm in love with her designs (and she also has a beautiful blog)!

And last, but definitely not least - these adorable ceramic birdhouses (and feeders) thoughtfully made and handcrafted by Jim Schatz out of Brooklyn. I love that he made theem so that preying birds can't enter and steal eggs (and such great colours)!
