Contributor post by Kat of Zero the One
I asked Kat of Zero the One (our contributor from Italy) if she would be interested in sharing her pink splash technique (in photoshop) that she has been using in her layouts from her posts with us recently. I love the summery pink lemon look, and I'm sure many of you would like to know how to do it too! It's a fairly simple process, just click on the play button to see. You can check out Kat's beautiful blog, Zero the One when you get a chance to see more of her work and gorgeous blog layouts!

I love this tutorial. The effect is awesome Kat!
I tried to follow along....it was going well until adding the red. When I dragged the spray of red from the outside in. It turned my image white. Any suggestions on what I may have done wrong? Thanks!
Hi Amy, make sure you select the gradient preset with the transparency, which means theres the color red that you selected fading into a checker/pattern background and not white (which I'm guessing is what happened. was it a red and white background?). you can change the gradient preset by clicking the drop-down list on the top left area and selecting the second from the left option (the gradient with the checker pattern). a view of that here: http://artist.tizag.com/screencaptures/photoshop/toolcaptures/gradienttool/gradienttooleditor.gif
let me know if it works out. :)
