Weekend Project: Entryway Shoe Storage

It's the weekend already and I found a pretty simple weekend project idea for the entryway.  I like this industrial shelf for a use to store shoes if you don't have a closet.  It totally somehow excuses what could be otherwise a complete disaster.  Maybe it's the hats hanging about, but whatever it is - not a bad idea if you're in a similar predicament.  (Image from NZ House & Garden Magazine).  Speaking of weekend projects - I did an epic post on 25 Stunning Weekend Projects this week over at Babble this week if you're up for a bit of inspiration (most never posted here). Also it's the end of our pre-spring market - we'll be back on Monday with a brand new Easter/Spring exhibition if you're around, we'd love if you stopped by.  Till then a few links to my other posts at Babble this week.  Have a fantastic weekend!

I love the idea of a shoe rack like this. Sadly, i don't have room in my entryway but I wish i did. With two boys, hockey, soccer etc. sometimes I nearly break my neck tripping over shoes. Love your weekend projects! Thanks.

I love the shoe rack but it is the kitchen that is making me swoon! I so want a kitchen with open cabinetry but haven't figured out how to make it happen. Plus I know we will not be in this house permanently... so for now I will swoon over other kitchens. Or maybe I'll take the plunge and remove our cabinets for open shelves and keep them to put back in when we sell. :)

One way or the other I LOVE this photo!

I like this... but I think the reason it looks so cohesive is because they're all the same style of shoes, just different colors. When you're dealing with big, ugly men's sneakers, it's a different story.

Angela - wow, thank you!

Jacaranda Designs - i know what you mean, i don't have the room myself.

Peggy - i couldn't agree more - love that kitchen, and those green plates!

Vanessa - i never noticed but you're right!

Love the photo - wish I had a local source for reclaimed wood to make it into a bookcase!

I have a vintage pie rack I've been deing to turn into shoe storage in our entryway, but unfortuantely our kitchen storage is lacking so it's a pot/dish holder in the kitchen until I come up with a stoarge solution for our pots and pans it will stay that way :(
