Weekend Project: Toile-Inspired Walls

You normally see sky painted walls in children's rooms, but stylist Claudia Bryant pulled the idea rather brilliantly I think into a living room space for March's Livingetc.  Here's a video on how to paint clouds by Mural Joe, but Claudia's example uses abstract strokes to get a more subtle interpretation (note the geometric wallpaper which anchors the space); this would be a fun weekend decorating project wouldn't it?  The toile pillows and curtains update and pull it all together.

Here's a few other toile-inspired looks that was featured in the Livingetc article.  Love the larger motif's mixed with smaller and the bold colour choices. All photo's by James Merrel

high color, high detail - power combination. love fuschia, gold, and moss green all together. and smells like Lush's Karma. I love the distressed blue walls too. weee

Toile gets such a bad rep - we love to see it used in inspiring, contemporary settings like this! LOVE!
