The philosophy of London’s first cupcake shop is simple - “This is a ‘T’ shop. Please do not use the ‘C’ word”! Situated in the heart of the East End’s famous Columbia Road Market, Treacle is a welcome antidote from the sea of coffee-shop chains that seem to be popping up all over London. Celebrating classic British baking, Treacle offers a delicious selection of Victoria sponges, layer cakes such as the Jammy Dodger, seasonal treats and of course, cupcakes!
Part retail shop, part bakery; Treacle also carries a variety of gifts and accessories such as hand printed tea towels, cushions, kitchenware, and other baking accessories. If you are anything like me, you will fall head over heels in love with their vintage wooden kitchen larder and haberdashery display they use for their cupcakes! Lovers of sweet things, sprinkles, tea and cake will fall in love!

I went to this very particular shop, in July 2010 (stopping by Rob Ryan's shop in the same street) & I can attest that their cupcakes are way crazy good !!!! (they are totally heavenly !) The smell in Columbia street was amazing ! Thanks for reminding me this sweet memorie :)
I love the top picture (with the cakes in the TV). Columbia street is now officially on my list for my next visit to London. =^x6=
