We've been thinking of building a loft bed in one of our rooms for saving a bit of space. We have high ceilings, so this idea is a good option. We thought about buying something, but the choices of pre-made are slim and rather uninspiring. So building one might be the best option. I've been hunting for instructions online which has become a feat in itself. So far I've found a couple; here and here. But still not the perfect solution. So I continue the quest. If you know of some good instructions, feel free to leave me a comment!

We made one for our daughter, our ceilings aren't very high and her room as small so it was a space saver, we plan to move it higher as she gets bigger but at the moment it is great it has curtains and is like a little cubby underneath, she has all her books and her doll house under there. Very cute! I like the white one too, with its enclosed play area. My granddaughter has a loft bed, with the play area and a slide! I think it was bought at Ikea but I'm not sure. Cute though. Good luck with yours!

That is a great idea. I would love to have a loft bed at home too.
My boyfriend made a fort for me in his room, and it's pretty awesome. I haven't had a chance to fix it up because I've been busy with school, but it's such a nice space. But the roof in his room is pretty high, so it works out well because we can walk around under and on top we can crawl around and sit up and stuff.
