Weekend Project No. 2: Paint a Closet!

Wouldn't it be fun to open up a closet to colourful walls like this?  Here is inside a dressing room at a LillyPulitzer store in Palm Beach. Looks like all you need to do is grab a heap of paint samples from the paint store, make a rectangular stencil paint in strokes to emulate water colours –not painting perfectly, let dry then hand write with a thin sharpie the colour names on each rectangle. I am now inspired to paint one wall in my closet a screaming hot colour that I wouldn't have the nerve to put anywhere else in the house... I just put some adorable vintage wallpaper in our pantry (I only had one roll) and it makes me smile every time I open the door.

Definitely fun... but at paint stores around here, samples are a couple of bucks each. I shudder to think how much the project would cost!!!

I did this on one small hidden wall (1.50 x 2.50) for my daughter room. It's not so easy to get a water colored style without paint running down the wall! After a day of try and error, finally nailed it and remained quite decent! It makes the room look heavy, so I don't recomend painting all or huge walls like this! Plus it's a lot of work!
