A Cozy Temporary Kitchen

I love the coziness of this kitchen I spotted over at Arren Williams blog today. It's the completed kitchen reno (a temporary kitchen) of his contributor, Jenn Hannotte. It has the feel of a cabin in the alps. This kitchen got me thinking about creating a temporary kitchen for us until we can afford the kitchen we really want.  It's a great idea - she mentions they hope to have it last at least 5 years. (Related:  Another temporary kitchen I like is that of Anna's of Door Sixteen.  Another five year idea, they are using the UDDEN units from IKEA.  Sadly they have been discontinued here in Canada, they are a great option though  if you can't spend the horrendous amount of money kitchen's seem to cost these days. Another example of them here.

I can relate to this. We are building a cabin and the kitchen is the last thing left. I still have my temporary kitchen. I actually have a garage utility sink in this beautiful cabin. LOL. We are looking to Ikea for something rustic.........kitchens are so freaking expensive. We only need lower cabinets and that is a fortune!

Gah, I LOVE this! I love the floors especially. The wood wall is so rich - though I think it might be hard to pull off in real life (think construction zone.) But they did a great job with this space!

See, I didn't even realize it was temporary, they made it work so well! :-P

I love the woodwork! I actually wrote a blog today about decorating your home with fake wood (I usually don't go for fake either!).

I love this. Very clever without a great deal of revamping.
