Very cool idea.
you just gave me the perfect solution to my staircase!!! we do live next to the forest, so it won`t be difficult. thanks! i am off to convince my husband now...
That is really neat! Too bad I don't have a staircase.
V.cool. I also love the blue keds, the painted red stairs, and the inspiration poster at the bottom of the stairs!
how cool is that
I love this so much! Today I saw a staircase where the in in between steps were shelves filled with books. I love super cute outdoor-indoor things like this.

I love this! Too bad I don't have a staircase in my apartment. But maybe when I grow old and get the money to buy that little house, the one waiting just for me?
Cool! Glad I've found your blog! So many wonderful ideas!

Oak? Looks kind of like birch . . .
Anon - I know, that's what i thought - but the article said Oak....
: )
wowww!
Looks like white birch to me. The downside to this is, the bark will come off in large pieces, probably in a year or less. Under the bark is almost always full of many different insects. Better to strip it, let it dry completely, sand it well, then varnish it.
