How fun is this handrail made from a found oak log?. I like that they left the bark in tact. Great for a summer cabin or rustic-inspired home. Via Country Living.
you just gave me the perfect solution to my staircase!!! we do live next to the forest, so it won`t be difficult. thanks! i am off to convince my husband now...
I love this so much! Today I saw a staircase where the in in between steps were shelves filled with books. I love super cute outdoor-indoor things like this.

I love this! Too bad I don't have a staircase in my apartment. But maybe when I grow old and get the money to buy that little house, the one waiting just for me?
Looks like white birch to me. The downside to this is, the bark will come off in large pieces, probably in a year or less. Under the bark is almost always full of many different insects. Better to strip it, let it dry completely, sand it well, then varnish it.
