Weekend Project: Paint Some Furniture Jackson Pollock–Style

Photo by Pia Jane Bijkerk for Anthology
I came across this stunning piece of painted furniture today in the latest issue of Anthology magazine.  It's from the Amsterdam home of Leslie Oschmann (owner of Swarm).  After looking at it closer, I thought something like this would be fairly simple to re-create, and probably fairly fun too for a weekend project!  I think the trick here is the black and white, painting one area black and then splattering the black onto the white à la Jackson Pollock–style.  Smashing, yes?

(And if you have time, check out the latest stuff at Swarm - so good).

The bags are great and so is the cabinet. I have a little furniture refinishing project going -- too late to do it Pollack style, but maybe next time! :-)

Anthology magazine is really one of the best magazines that feature about home and decor. I do subscribe it too. I do get some tips too from this for my home renovation.
