Sunday Reading: Marie Claire Idées

Photo:  Patrice de Grandry; Réalisation : Camille Soulayrol, Anne Ventura

Pull out your favourite translator (if you need to) and get the instructions to make some charming creations out of recycled wood from the folks at Marie Claire Idées. Above: On the wall of an entrance, a coat tree is drawn using salvaged planks, below: various boards, end tables and cupboards were made to create a one-of-a-kind desk and two thick sheets of wood hold a long branch to make a unique mini clothing rack. See the instructions for all of these (and others) here and watch a video of how their talented team put some of these together (including styling) here.

So funny! The first two photos are on my inspiration board : the peg tree for Tessa' room and th second one... For my husband to maybe build one with the sane patchwork of woods and furniture idea!

The third picture is somethng that i have seen last year at Maison et Objets:: but this picture you found is simply stunning!!!
This magazine is really neat!!!

Thank you for your Sunday reading!

Hi Lila,

Ho fun! I hope you make them - they sound like great projects. I love this magazine too - hard to find here though, or if i do sometimes it's way out of season.

I love the rustic look of all the wood pieces. This is almost exactly what I imagine my house to look like (once I finally take the plunge and move out of my apartment). =)

Really cool ideas - perfect for a small entryway (like mine!) that needs a little sprucing up! Love the natural shades and textures.

I love the coat hangers!!!! i actually did something similar when I renovated my hallway. I needed hooks and didn t want to drive to home depot. so i went in our backyard and looked for branches;-)
