Summer Weekend Project: Collecting Nature

I don't know about you, but sometimes it's just too hot to have any type of weekend project, and usually in this case we always head to the beach or someplace cooler. When I'm out in nature I always end up dragging something home for a possible project down the road (like driftwood, pinecones, river rocks). I hope to share some of those projects come the fall, so in the meantime, care to join me collecting nature? Once you collect things, please feel free to upload to our "collecting nature" flickr pool. I hope there we can share our findings, be inspired and create some wonderful weekend projects together come September. Start uploading your nature finds as soon as you like. Think pinecones, river rocks, driftwood, sea shells, etc. The more creative the photo - and more beautiful the better. I want this to be an inspiring group. So please only upload your best. I hope to share some of these on the blog. Thanks!

Beautiful! I will have to join in once winter is over...too cold to even go out! It's that time of the year where all you do is watch a lot of movies under a warm blanky :)

Nature collections are one of our favorite family activities. One of the few things that both the adults and the children enjoy equally. Thanks so much for the flickr group - great, great idea!

This is a fantastic idea, I'm feeling really inspired by the large collection of natural and organic objects in the flickr pool. I've uploaded several of my woodland findings, and will be using the twigs & branches as part of some decorative hanging mobiles that I'm currently making.

one of my nature images was featured on the front page of Craft Gawker so hopefully more people will navigate to the flickr group pool :)
