Summer has me really loving blues and whites this year and these Indigo Ikats by Mary Bergtold-Mulcahy for Les Indiennes are so stunning. A meticulous and laborious method of weaving fabric, the process involves the dyeing of small bundles of yarn in specific places before the fabric is woven. The pattern emerges as each thread is positioned into the cloth. View the entire collection here.

Beautiful colour! I love indigo.
Gorgeous gorgeous fabric!
Love the stripe.
These are so beautiful. I'm so into blue lately.
Oh my, these are gorgeous!!
Ikat is a traditional Indian art. I wish Mary had mentioned this in her blog. I'm amazed she totally missed out mentioning India in her small write-up about Ikat on her website.
Ikat is such a beautiful way to add design to woven fabric. I'm just planning to weave some simple indigo ikat scarves, and your post is a surprise inspiration
