Detour

Vancouver - Stanley Park

Monday took me over to the North Shore and so I thought since it was such a sunny (although blustery) day, I snapped a few shots with a detour into Stanley Park on the way (and back). I love our city and sometimes forget how beautiful it is. More of my pictures are here with description of each.

Fun fact: If you look at the second last photo of the Lion's Gate Bridge, just before the bridge there are two lion statues "The Lions". Each one is currently decorated with hockey paraphernalia (left a Canuck's jersey; right a faux Stanley Cup) in support of our team in the playoffs right now. Click here and here to see a close-up of each.

I'm loving these photos of Vancouver. I miss the beautiful summers there. I tried to explain to a friend here the difference between Seattle and Vancouver. She's visiting Seattle this summer, but not Vancouver and I told her she's completely missing out.

Wishing you all a fabulous week!

p.s. have I told you guys how much I love your blog!

Nice pictures - it's been so cloudy in Nelson for a couple of weeks - I'd love to see some sun(and the sea!)

A sunny day here in Vancouver?! And you've captured it! Hee hee! I used to work in West Vancouver and went across that bridge everyday. I miss it now that I never pass over it...going through Stanley Park and then emerging past the trees to the most spectacular view of mountains and the ocean! ahhh...

We are so, so blessed to live in such a beautiful city. I loved your photos of the lions in all of their glory. I wonder if it was done by a fan or the city?

Great pictures. I'm interested in the lions on the south side of the bridge. You mentioned the hockey jerseys they wore earlier this year, well right now they are wearing poppy wreaths for remembrance day which is how I got to your site. earlier this year they wore daffodil garlands, olympic rings and other things. My question is who does the decorating? does anyone know?
