This week from Abbey Hendrickson: The Carle

That girl above obsessively dying popsicle sticks green? You guessed it, that's me! Today I thought I'd give a little shout out to a non-profit that's near and dear to my heart. Prior to attending graduate school, I worked as a museum educator at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in picturesque Amherst, Massachusetts. A gorgeous contemporary building set in an apple orchard; talented co-workers; meeting famous illustrators; and being surrounded by original artwork from some of my favorite books (The Twits, anyone?!) all made the experience an incredible one. Have I convinced you to visit The Carle yet? If you can't make it in person, take a virtual tour. Enjoy!

I love the twits! I was remembering it recently with a friend, recounting when the husband adds pieces of wood to the bottom of the wife's chair to make her think that she's shrinking! So glad that you mentioned it!

I had no idea there was an Eric Carle museum - how delightful! This would be the perfect road trip for my mom and I .
