Gallant & Jones

Picture 10

Sourcing beautiful North American black walnut wood and gorgeous fabrics, Vancouver BFF's Tamra and Gwyn of Gallant & Jones have created a sweet little business as the result of a sunny afternoon stroll on the river Thames. Tamra and her family were visiting London where they were aimlessly walking beneath the Waterloo Bridge and came across some classic, striped, old English deckchairs. As her English husband became nostalgic she realized how these chairs barely existed outside Europe. Upon her return Tamra mentioned these chairs to her best friend Gwyn, a Welsh lass who felt much nostalgia towards the deckchair too. And so with Tamra's passion for woodworking, Gwyn's impeccable eye for design and a couple of bottles of wine, Gallant & Jones, from their maiden names, was born.

Soon after they set up an environmentally responsible business hand making deckchairs from their little workshop in Vancouver. The chairs are named after beaches and lakes in British Columbia, Great Britain and beyond that hold special memories for them.
