The Polls Are Now All UP!

Today we published the last poll for our "online awards event", The Poppies! We've made a link to each one below (if you missed any). All polls are open for voting for one week, with the last one closing on January 30th, 2010. Our intent of this whole event is to celebrate the handmade artist as well as bring attention to the handmade community, and to just have a little fun! Hey, it's like playing "The Oscars"!

We will have two winners per category. "The Peoples Choice" (where all our readers vote a winner including 2 in the jewelry category) and "The Jury's Choice". We will be announcing our exciting jury tomorrow so stay tuned (it's an awesome line-up and we think the nominees will be thrilled)! The winners will be announced on Friday, February 5th, 2010.

Here is the list (alphabetically).

Favourite Affordable Art Artist
Favourite Artist Blog
Favourite Handmade Crafter
Favourite Ceramics
Favourite Handmade Eco Artist
Favourite Handmade Housewares
Favourite Handmade Papergoods
Favourite Jewelry Part 1 (A - K)
Favourite Jewelry Part 2 (L -Z)

I know your intentions were good but it seems like this vote has become nothing more than a popularity contest and has created some very harsh feelings. Have you read the comments on the the ceramics vote? Way out of line.
