Mary's Granddaughter "Connection Series"

connection no. 2

Mary's Granddaughter's new series "connection" explores the different stages in the relationship between mother and daughter. As her own daughter grows and prepares for college she has become intimately aware of how quickly time passes.

All the pieces in this series are embroidered on antique homespun linen and framed in vintage metal embroidery hoops. The little antique arms were excavated from the grounds of an old doll factory in Thuringia, Germany.

The mom-daughter relation is very well depicted....I can feel it...The closeness,I know, it changes with time...& when the daughter finds her dream love...& she moves away with him after marriage...It is then that motherly love & affection starts haunting her....which she tends to miss much....& when that mother gets a daughter in-law at her place, it is then that this daughter tends to feel insecure of her mother's affection...

This piece of art simply touched me....to tears... I LOVE MY MAA...

Love,
Ash...

A complicated subject treated so simply. Beautiful work, again.
