I don't usually link to commercials about jeans (or commercials about anything, for that matter) but I'm strangely drawn to this one. The ad is part of Levi's new Go Forth campaign. Sure, it's a little over the top but it's also gorgeously shot. I don't necessarily feel the urge to run out and buy a pair of Levi jeans so much as I feel the urge to run wildly through the nearest forest or wide open stretch of land. And there's something to be said for that.

i am pretty sure if those characters were as bad ass as they might look, they wouldn't give a hoot what damn brand jeans they were wearing... nice art... shitty use for it.
Love the idea...too bad that it is for a Levi's commercial and not for some world changing idea.
I know, right? always genuinely disappointed when something I really really like turns out to be an ad.
I said the exact same thing to my husband last week (who of course made fun of me and told me 'it was just a jean commercial'), but it's gorgeous. They also did a really cool patriotic one earlier in the year :)
i like it. most commercial don't actually look fun...especially jeans ads. no, i'm not going to out and buy some Levi's because of it, but i'm more excited to see that between "my stories" than some macho gas-guzzler ad.
It totally gets my attention every time its one and, I'm a little embarrassed to admit, makes me feel a teeny bit inspired to be more bold. Whatever. I guess it just means those marketing whiz's have got my number.
Well it should make you feel bold, that's the point. If you continue to read the poem you will find other feelings there too. It will bring you through fear, anger and some others. It almost seems like Walt Whitman is reflecting how peoples' ideas change and how people grow as they go through life. Of course, I know very little about poetry, but no one else can agree on what this poem is about either so I dont feel so bad. Anyway, it's a good poem because no matter who you are you'll be able to see some of yourself in it.
Too bad it's only for jeans.
i also am not inspired to but the jeans but totally interested in who they are quoting... anyone know???
To Anonymous,
The author is Walt Whitman, and the piece is from Leaves of Grass.
