New Exhibit: Ravishing Beasts, MOV
This past weekend at IDSwest I caught a preview of the upcoming exhibit at Museum of Vancouver, enititled, Ravishing Beasts. A display of the museum's extensive collection of taxidermy which investigates the provacative and strangely alluring world of taxidermy. Speaking with the Director of Audience Engagement, Amanda Gibbs, the show confronts viewers with the visual power of taxidermy and invites us to examine it's cultural aesthetic, scientific history and revival in art and design today. The show is guest curated by Rachel Poliquin, exhibit design Kevin McAllister, graphic design Burnkit Creative. The exhibit runs October 22 - February 28, 2010.
