The featured designer this month at from Stholm is Lovisa Wattman. Her ceramic mugs are modeled on the shape of a wine glass and are made to be held close, cupped in your hand. The mugs have double hollow walls to keep drinks warm withought burning your fingers and the "Skane" (above) design is inspired by the Swedish summer (who knew there were windmills in Sweden)? Lovisa’s practical and elegant parmesan cheese grater is made to fit comfortably in your hand. Its 100% natural oak compartment not only looks lovely on display, but catches the cheese shavings and doubles as a storage compartment, imbuing the cheese with its deep woody tones.
Lovisa attended Stockholm’s prestigious Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in industrial design and was a visiting student at Denmark’s Arkitekturskolan in Ã…rhus. She has worked independently as Lovisa Wattman Industridesign since 1999.
