Artists of PHM: Matte Stephens
This week we're starting a series called Artists Of Poppytalk Handmade where we will feature as many of the artists we can from our Poppytalk Handmade Market. So starting with one of our favorites and regulars, Matte Stephens who's based out of where else, that little city of talent just south of the border from us, Portland, Oregon. Matte loves modern design and is inspired by anything Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard, George Nelson/Irving Harper and artists like Ben Shahn and Paul Klee. He has done Illustration work for Herman Miller, American Express, The Boston Globe, Disney's magazine Family Fun ,The Eye Weekly, Glow Magazine, Endless Vacation Magazine and Woodmanstern to name a few. He has done shows all over the place and you can find original work on a regular basis at Jonathan Adler and Velocity Art and Design and sometimes in his shop.
