For most of us Canadians, we've sort of grown up with Sarah Richardson, prop stylist turn decorator with her lifestyle TV shows like Room Service, design inc. and more recently, Sarah's House. I've always been a fan of her practical and d.i.y. approach to interior design, and so when I heard of her latest show on HGTV (Canada), Sarah's Cottage, I couldn't wait to watch. Being a cottage fan, I was curious to see how Sarah would design hers and it's not to disappoint. Over the course of six episodes and with a team including her husband, Alexander Younger of Design Lab, Sarah sets off to renovate her own off the grid weekend getaway. Luckily you don't have to live in Canada to watch all the episodes as they are online and available here. I put together a few of my favorite vignettes to show here from the website's gallery at HGTV.
Update: Oh dear, it looks like the U.S. can't see the videos - too bad. Sorry, never thougth of that.

Oh man, Room Service! Thanks for bringing back some memories. She was all over the TV while I was growing up -- with her white button-up shirts and black v-neck sweaters.... thanks for posting this - the new Canadian cabin!
I am absolutely in love just by looking at the photos. I would do just about anything to make my home look this cozy, but unfortunately I own four dogs whose sole purpose in life appears to be shedding on and destroying my furniture. I'll have to wait a few more years before my cottage dreams come true.

I am a Sarah-loving Canadian hanging out down here in the US; couldn't wait to check out the videos. Unfortunately, the thing gives me a message saying it knows I am not in Canada, and I won't be able to watch. Boo...
I love her style. Fine Living tv is showing the first series of Sarah's House right now and I hope they follow with the second season as well as Sarahs Cottage. Unfortunately, the video on HGTV.ca cannot be seen in the USA!

I love her too, and the last house she did and now this cottage, are to die for. We both love watching them redo the cottage. Sadly I think this season is over....
